Haynes Concierge PT & Wellness is an alternative to insurance based Physical Therapy and Wellness.
Over the past 30 years the insurance industry has changed the landscape for both its customers and providers. Today, insurance companies dictate to both their customers and contracted providers the amount and the type of services that can be offered, without regard to the needs of the customers or professional recommendation of the providers.
Possibly the biggest distinction between Concierge and Insurance based therapy is proactive vs. reactive. Typically, people seek out physical therapy after there has been an injury or trauma of some sort, and that is a fine model. What Concierge PT allows is to be proactive in reaching your goals. Assume for a moment that you would like to get better control of your health and would like to get to where you participate in some of the many 5k charity races we have in the area. Our first step would be to evaluate your present condition. We would want to know about your strength, flexibility, cardiopulmonary condition, and any orthopedic limitations, among others. Then we want to determine how long it would reasonably take to address any areas that are lacking and a reasonable timeline to take you to reach that goal. Typically your time in PT is more intensive at first, giving you the hands-on treatment and guidance needed to get to the 5k and then, once you are at your goal, we decide if you would need ongoing monitoring, maintenance or adjustment to your overall plan.
While we continue to provide insurance based services, we are now offering an alternative so that the treatment that is provided is what is determined by the client and the therapist.
Concierge Physical Therapy is a cash based option that allows the client and the therapist to custom tailor a treatment plan that fits the clients unique conditions and circumstances. Some clients will only need short 30 minute sessions and others may need sessions that last 2 hours. We can offer that custom approach by removing the barriers between the client and the therapist. In addition, the Wellness approach lets the client have a support system in place to guide them as they continue to strive for their physical health goals.
Each of our therapists have unique specialties including:
Each session is one on one with your Therapist. This allows a fully focused session to deal exclusively with your issues and work toward achieving your planned goals.
Each new patient will have an Initial Assessment which is a total body assessment of your strength and range of motion, your therapist will take a full history of your physical and movement issues, and finally will focus on your current problem. Plan on a full hour to complete the initial assessment as well as some paperwork beforehand to help with your history.
Unlike some concierge practices, we do not require an annual fee for being a client of the practice. Our fees are simply based on the time you and your therapist determine are required to help you reach your goals. However, we do offer discount plans that can decrease the overall cost of your sessions that do include a bundled fee.
What does the concierge experience look like? A typical client will seek us out after failing at traditional insurance based therapy. They may be experiencing shoulder pain and difficulty lifting overhead. The client and therapist would decide on a treatment approach that is typically once a week, maybe twice) for an hour for 3 to 4 weeks. After that there would probably be a once a month check-in for 30 minutes. You and the therapist are already familiar with your situation at that point and it is simple to come back in at any point for adjustments to your plan or to address any new problems. In addition, your therapist's contact information is provided to you and you have access to communicate with them as you need.
